Before the wedding there is usually pellikuthuru for the bride and pellikoduku for the groom, and afterwards talambralu, where the couple shower each other with rice. A funvite invite holds all of this in one link, with a map pin for the kalyana mandapam and a clear note if the muhurtham is after midnight.
How a Telugu subhalekha is usually written
Cards often open with "శ్రీరస్తు శుభమస్తు అవిఘ్నమస్తు" and an invocation to Lord Venkateswara or the family deity. The invitation names the bride and groom with their parents, and asks guests to come with family ("సకుటుంబ సపరివార సమేతంగా") and bless the couple.
- Invocation and "Srirastu Subhamastu Avighnamastu"
- Exact muhurtham (lagnam) time — say "night of [date]" if it falls after midnight
- Pellikuthuru and pellikoduku dates if guests are invited
- Talambralu and reception timing
- Kalyana mandapam name, address and map link
- Bhojanam timing
Late-night muhurthams
If the muhurtham is at, say, 2.10 am, guests can get confused about which date to come. Write it as "night of Friday [date], muhurtham 2.10 am (early Saturday)". Our templates let you add that note right under the time.
