Wedding reception invitation

The reception is often the biggest guest list of the wedding — colleagues, neighbours, business contacts and everyone who wasn't invited to the smaller functions. Many receptions are hosted by the groom's family after the bride comes home; others are held in a different city altogether, or months later for friends abroad.

Every one opens with a moment — tap, swipe or scratch — then shows the details, a map and RSVP. Tap a card to try it.

How it works

Ready in about fifteen minutes

  1. 1

    Pick a template

Choose how it opens — a scroll, a diya, an envelope, a chat, stories or a scratch card.

  2. 2

    Make it yours

Add names, every function, muhurat times and venues, in English or any Indian language. Add a photo.

  3. 3

Publish and send one link. It opens full-screen on any phone, no app needed.

  4. 4

    Track RSVPs

On Pro (₹99), guests reply inside the invite and you see who is coming to each function.

A reception-only invite keeps it clear: the newly married couple, the date and time, the venue with a map, and dinner. funvite lets you make it as a separate link, so office colleagues don't see the mehendi.

What to include

  • "Reception" or the name your family uses — ashirwad samaroh, preetibhoj, bou bhaat
  • The couple's names, as a married couple
  • Hosts: usually the groom's parents
  • Date, time (and when the couple will be on stage, if that matters to guests)
  • Venue with map and parking
  • Dinner details, and a dress code if any

Reception in another city

If the wedding is in the bride's hometown and the reception in the groom's, mention both cities clearly so guests don't confuse them. A "home reception" invite can also go to people who couldn't travel for the wedding. For wording ideas, see reception invitation wording.

Wording

Wording you can copy

Questions

Frequently asked

Who hosts the wedding reception?

Traditionally the groom's family, after the wedding. Many couples now host jointly or host it themselves.

Should the reception invite be separate?

If many reception guests aren't invited to other functions, yes. A separate link keeps it clear.

How early should I send reception invites?

Three to four weeks before. For colleagues, two to three weeks is fine.

Can I collect RSVPs for the reception?

Yes, on Pro — useful when the caterer needs a head-count.

Can I add a photo from the wedding?

Yes. Many couples send the reception invite after the wedding with a photo from the pheras.
